"The protest was held throughout Punjab that day. We took black flags to tell the world that this is no democracy and we are living in times when Kashmir is curbed from its rights and Kashmiris are shut down from the world," Kanupriya said.
Security officers at PU — Shiv Lal Yadav, Baljeet Singh, Santokh Singh, and Varinder Singh — who witnessed the incident, deposed that no stone pelting took place that day and none of the agitating students attacked the police party.
A student from Sociology Department requesting anonymity said, “I cleared UGC NET this time. There was a post at SD college. I applied for it but was not allowed to sit for the interview because result of my entire masters is not available.”
A letter by the Syndicate members to the university’s Vice-Chancellor said the recruitment drive had been put on hold and a fresh advertisement would be issued later. One Assistant Professor has been recruited.
