Six Chandigarh policemen including two inspectors have been conferred the Administrative Police Medal for distinguished and meritorious services on the eve of Independence Day.
Those conferred the medal also included a sub inspector,head constable and two constables.
Inspector Jaswinder Kaur,43,is posted in Woman and Child Support Unit (WCSU) of Chandigarh Police for the past one year. Kaur,who joined the Chandigarh police in 1990 has been awarded the police medal for distinguished services. The lady inspector was also awarded by the UT administration in 1995 and 2006.
Inspector Sucha Singh,55,who is posted in the traffic police for the last one year has been conferred the police medal for his meritorious services. He is known in the department for his work spirit.
Sub Inspector Daya Ram,46,is posted in the operation cell of the Chandigarh police for the last two years. Ram who joined the police services in 1985 was instrumental in seizing 52 kilos of poppy husk last year. The SI,a commando,has been conferred the police medal for his distinguished services.
Head Constable Nihal Singh,51,is posted in the traffic wing of the Chandigarh police. Singh who joined the department in 1983 has been conferred the police medal for his meritorious services.
Constable Satyabir Singh,who is posted in the escort duty of Inspector General of Police. He has been conferred the medal for his meritorious services.
Constable Kushal Singh has been conferred the police medal for his meritorious services.
