However,a determined knock of 46 runs in just 43 balls by captain Neha Chillar and 15 not out by Mansi helped the Modern girls recover. But some wonderful overs by Surreet Kaur, who took 3 wickets, and Diya Medha and Muskaan Gill, who took two wickets each for Pinegrove, brought the hosts team back into the match. The Modern School girls could only muster 89 runs for the loss of 7 wickets thereby losing the match by 36 runs.
