Scholarship to SC students: Rules changed

Haryana Government has amended the guidelines regarding disbursement of scholarship to students belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) under Post-Matric Scholarship(PMS) Scheme.

Technical Education Minister,Mahender Partap Singh said that from the session 2011-12,the benefit of PMS would be given to SC students admitted through centralised counselling. However,the scholarship would be limited to 40 per cent of the sanctioned intake of the institutions.

Singh said that as the condition of pass in math and science in the matriculation examination had been waived off by the Haryana State Board of Technical Education,the students admitted provisionally and now declared eligible would also be entitled for the PMS scholarship.
