Saupin’s students back after exchange trip to Pakistan

The 40-member student delegation that visited Pakistan on a eight-day trip,under a student exchange programme initiated by Pakistan and Delhi-based Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) have returned.

The 40-member student delegation that visited Pakistan on a eight-day trip,under a student exchange programme initiated by Pakistan and Delhi-based Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) have returned. Among them were students from Saupin’s School in Sector 32.

The five students – Ikjot Singh,Yuvnahar Singh,Lakshay Choudhary,Sarabjit Singh and Shourya Pratap Singh – accompanied by faculty members Mamta Arora,Seema Rani and Anurag Vashist visited Pakistan.

During the programme,the students were exposed to the education imparted in urban and rural schools of Pakistan.

According to a teacher,who visited Pakistan,“Talking in terms of educational system,we are quite ahead of them. They follow their culture in the education system too.”

The students also visited historical places in the neighbouring country besides experiencing its culture and traditions.

The exchange programme,which included exchanging of letters,photographs,art work and video recordings,now connects over 3,500 students from 17 different schools across cities of Delhi,Chandigarh,Mumbai,Karachi,Lahore and Rawalpindi.

The student exchange programme called ‘Exchange for Change’ was launched in 2010 by the Citizens Archive of Pakistan (CAP),Routes 2 Roots,a Karanchi-based NGO and Delhi-based NGOs.
