He made quite an impression in Woh Lamhe – to an extent that bollytown went buzzing about him. After his menacing appearances,Shaad Randhava has now sobered down a bit and will return as a CBI officer in his next,Rokkk. A horror supernatural thriller,this is exactly the kind of character Shaad wanted to do. “For I want to insure that every character I play matches my personality,” says the actor who has signed up for Bunty Walia’s Gangs of London and a special project of Vishesh Films post Rokkk.

An actor since childhood courtesy the filmy khandaan he hails from,Shaad’s been doing stage shows since he was in Class IV. “I carried on during my college days,and I was known for performing all kinds of roles,” my,my,aren’t we modest! Soon after BCom,the man realised his winning potential in the world of acting,and jumped in. Was it difficult? “Of course not! My uncle is Dara Singh and my aunt is Mumtaz,so the access to work was easy…but it’s what happens after that is what decides your fate,” says Shaad who feels that you get only one shot and everything is based on your own performance. “Your have to fight for every inch of territory here. I got a role in Woh Lamhe in 2006. It was a warm welcome at the Bhatt camp film,one which bagged me the best newcomer award too,” from there,it was Awarapan and Dhum Dhadaka. While he is looking forward to Krishna Chaudhary and Rajesh Ransinghe’s Rokkk,he also has his fingers crossed for Right or Wrong which is due for a release this month. As for Rokkk,the actor’s playing CBI officer Ranbir. Quiz him whether he too was spooked out during the shoot,and he says,“I don’t believe in ghost stories,but after doing the film I feel that there are some invisible powers. Like now,the shooting has stopped due to rains and it’s raining in only half a kilometer radius around the shooting area! Isn’t it spooky?” Time to call the ghostbusters!
