It’s the week before the finale, and Dance Indian Dance has yet another story to tell. Right after Jai Kumar Nair’s last performance on Krishnan Iyer M A Nariyal Paani wala from the legendary film ‘Agneepath’,Grandmaster Mithun Da shares a dear memory with the audience on how the character,Krishnan Iyer M A developed. “We used to live like paying guests in Koliwada where generally fourth-class employees of BMC used to put up. One paid Rs150 to sleep on a single bed and Rs 75 to sleep on the floor. I had the floor arrangement and a Malayali roommate used sleep on the single bed. One night,I got bitten by a huge rat and bled profusely. Tired by the night’s attack,I got up,and slept on my room mate’s bed when he’s left for work,” Mithun da adds how when the roomie returned, tempers flew high. “He started abusing me in a Malayali accented Hindi,“tumhara himmat kaise hua mere bed pe sone ki…tum mere bed ko ganda karega ,toh dekhna main loongi uthake tumahara kya haal karega” and that’s how the character of Krishnan Iyer M A Nariyal Paani wala came about,” laughs Mithun Da as he narrates the incident. Watch this and more on the finale on May 30 on Zee’s Dance India Dance live from Andheri Sports Complex.
