Fatehgarh Sahib: Two Congress rebels today filed their nomination papers from Fatehgarh Sahib constituency for the January 30 Punjab Assembly polls.Former minister Harbans Lal and former Fatehgarh Sahib District Congress Committee chief Lakhbir Singh Rai today filed nomination papers as Independent candidates. Lal and Rai have raised banner of revolt against the Congress leadership for allotting ticket to Kuljit Singh Nagra,President,Kissan Khet Mazdoor Congress,Punjab. Pardeep Malhotra,former Punjab Pardesh Congress Committee (PPCC) secretary had also announced his decision to contest as an Independent from Fatehgarh Sahib Constituency.

PPP declares fourth list of 15 candidates

Chandigarh : The fourth list of the People’s Party of Punjab was declared with 15 names. According to PPP spokeman Arunjot Singh Sodhi the latest list includes,Kamaljit Singh Kakrra (Nakodar),Sukhpreet Singh Randhawa (Fatehgarh Churian),Ajit Singh Khurana (Aatam Nagar),Gurmej Singh Matharu (Ajnala),Sardul Singh Balian from Jandiala (SC),Jasmail Singh Bondli (Samrala),Gurpreet Singh Nathuwala (Baghapurana),Parminder Singh (Pintu) from Ferozepur City,Mohinderpal Singh Jassal from Bassi Pathana (SC),Bibi Amarjit Kaur from Jaito (SC),Chaudhary Darshan Lal from Balachaur,Vibhore Garg (Ludhiana South),Daljit Singh (Ludhiana East),Sukhwinder Singh Sidhu Sheron (Sunam) and Hakam Singh Paharpur (Samana).

Congres rebels to ensure SAD-BJP victory: Sidhu

Muktsar: BJP MP Navjot Singh Sidhu on Monday said that the ruling SAD-BJP alliance need not make much effort to campaign for the victory of their candidates,as the rebel Congress leaders would help them regain power. Sidhu was addressing a BJP rally at Fazilka after the party nominee Surjit Jayani filed the nomination papers. Sidhu said that Congress is facing mass revolt as many aspirants have been denied tickets. The rebels would contest as Independents against Congress nominees thus cutting into their vote bank . “Congress would have to fight against the rebels to survive. The rebels would help us winning more than 90 seats and ensure that the alliance regains power,” he added.
