The Chandigarh Police have failed to make any headway in the hit-and-run case resulting in the death of a 17-year-old girl,a state-level boxer. The accident took place,on Monday,on the dividing road of Sectors 29-30.

As per available information,the police will show the CCTV footage of vehicles,which had crossed the dividing road on Monday,to the cousin of the girl in order to identify the offending vehicle.

An SUV driven in a rash and negligent manner,had rammed into a motorcycle,which resulted in the death of Megha,who was a resident of Hoshiarpur,Punjab.

Megha was riding pillion on a motorbike with her teenaged cousin Gaurav Kumar when a speeding SUV knocked the class XII student down on Monday.

Megha breathed her last in the wee hours of Tuesday. She was to celebrate her 18th birthday at her aunt’s house in Sector 30 on June 22.

“We have been unable to identify the offending vehicle so far. We will be showing the CCTV footage of all those vehicles which passed from the said sector roads on Monday to the injured to identify the vehicle,” said a police officer.
