When I first conceptualised the club,this was the only name I could think of giving it, says Delhi-based 26-year-old Paritosh Gupta,as he juggles between giving orders on a walkie talkie and taking calls on his cell phone,while organising an event sponsored by Porsche

Chandigarh at Taj Hotel. In the city for the soft launch of his supercar club here on Sunday,Gupta,in association with Citibank,also presented a Porsche CannonBall Supercar Show,Chandigarh Edition. From BMW Z4,GTR to Porsche Cayenne,911 et al,owners of luxury cars from in and around Chandigarh,including Ludhiana,Jalandhar and Patiala,drove in and parked the sporting beauties at the hotel.

The club was conceptualised two years back,when Gupta was working with Audi,New Delhi. I realised that the supercar owner was a lonely,isolated individual,who was also frustrated in many ways. Not only was he one of the few to own such a car,but he was also driving it alone,being stared at and fined for speed. Face it,Indian roads are not exactly the kind one wants to rev on, says Gupta,who decided to bring the supercar owners together in an exclusive club,whose membership comes only by invitation. One has to own a supercar above Rs 50 lakh and above 300bhp,although rules for Chandigarh will relax a bit, he says.

Among others,his club organises regular high-powered drives,exclusive social evening,arranges coverage of its members in business/auto magazines,helps buy and sell supercars,even second hand ones and deals with breakdowns and modifications. These cars are prized possessions, says Gupta,who has ventured with his club out of Delhi for the first time.

With over 5,000 members on facebook,the club will officially launch its website and will open a Chandigarh office in July.
