Hospital authorities stated that the new waiting hall will be especially beneficial for senior citizens, women and critically ill patientsMLA Kulwant Singh Thursday inaugurated a modern, hi-tech waiting hall at a local hospital constructed at a cost of approximately Rs 30 lakh.
Developed with the support of JLPL’s Dr S S Bhamra and Paramjit Singh under corporate social responsibility, the air-conditioned hall has a large LED display screen, two entry points, and spacious, comfortable seating, offering a clean, safe and pleasant environment for patients and their families.
Responding to a query regarding the delay in starting work on the new ward in the Paediatric Department, MLA Kulwant Singh clarified, “The ward was inaugurated by the minister in November, but the work could not begin due to an issue related to the electricity connection. Since the entire hospital’s power supply had to be temporarily disconnected, the process took time. The issue has now been resolved, and work will start from tomorrow. The ward will be made operational very soon.”
On being asked about washrooms-related problems in the hospital building, the male washroom of which are often closed for repair, the MLA said, “I have come to know about this issue just now. I will speak to the SMO and ensure that this problem is also resolved at the earliest.”
The MLA appealed to the public, saying, “All these facilities belong to the people. Everyone must take care of them. If they are damaged, it is ultimately the public’s own property that suffers.”
Hospital authorities stated that the new waiting hall will be especially beneficial for senior citizens, women and critically ill patients, improving their hospital experience.
The inauguration was attended by AIMS Director-Principal Dr Bhavneet Bharti, who acknowledged the importance of patient-friendly infrastructure in strengthening public healthcare services. Senior medical officer Dr H S Cheema was present too.
