Makhan Singh, whose sister-in-law, Surinder Kaur, is the sarpanch now, tells Chandigarh Newsline that drinking water pipeline has been laid and there is an improvement. However, roads and electricity are still an issue in the village.
The Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Gurpreet Kaur Sapra said that a total of 749 polling stations have been set up in three assembly constituencies falling in two parliamentary constituencies- Shri Anandpur Sahib and Patiala.
The maximum number of drink and driving challans are issued in Chandigarh, followed by Panchkula and Mohali. In 2018, the Chandigarh Police issued 6,489 challans in ‘drunk and driving’ cases, as compared to 1,132 challans issued by the Panchkula police and a paltry 709 by Mohali counterparts.
