Winding up final arguments in the case pertaining to the death of medical student Aman Kachru due to alleged ragging, the defence counsel remained adamant on their stand that the death had occurred due to heart attack. The counsel contested the prosecutions stand that Kachru died of injuries as he was beaten up by his seniors. The defence has maintained this stand since the investigation stage and had also argued it before the High Court when the four accused had been granted bail by a lower court. The High Court had, however, set aside the order.
Arguments in the case are likely to culminate on Saturday, said prosecution counsel Jeevan Lal Sharma.
