French label Zudaas arrives with summer specials for lil tykes
Fitted jeans,halter tops,denim jackets…its hard to believe how kidswear fashion has evolved. Trends apart,today children decide on what they want to wear, admits Akhilesh Sharma,retail head of the all-new kidswear brand Zudaas. This Wednesday saw the team arrive in town to formally roll out the summer line-up as well as talk of expansion plans in the country. For the uninitiated,Zudaas is a kidswear label from France and we have a franchise for whole of Asia, informed Hitesh Mehta,managing director,Zudaas Fashions India Pvt Ltd. Interestingly,Mehtas hoping to take the international clothing brand across the country this year. Being a year old brand in India,we are now hoping to spread wings in a big way. While we have two stores in Chandigarh,were looking to open as many as 20 more in Punjab and 40 more across country by the year end, Mehta elaborated. Speaking about the kidswear industry,the team at Zudaas is optimistic. We have many players in the market now but not enough still, added Sharma as he elaborated,The USP of our brand is the fact that its distinctive,cool,funky yet affordable. Also we cater from newborns to those as old as 15 years.
Speaking of new arrivals,the theme for Spring-Summer 2009 is Safari. Its inspired by the African plains and woodlands. Among the highlights are washed and striped denims,T-shirts,tops,blouses and dresses in micro-floral prints,teamed with scarves and caps,in a palette of blues ranging from indigo to sky blue, explained the retail head. Whats more,the fabrics in use are comfy cottons and linen. For the boys we have ankle-length cargoes,Tees in colours such as soft blue,bordeaux and green, added Sharma. The label also prides itself for having a range of party dresses,both ethnic as well as Western. As far as pricing goes,our range starts at Rs 200 and as a summer special we are rolling out a 50 per cent discount, spoke Mehta.
