Perhaps in first-ever action,a court at Kullu today issued warrants of arrest against a serving IPS officer K K Indoria and accepted the request of Himachal Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau to declare him a proclaimed offender and help in affecting his arrest in the FIR registered against him.
Confirming this, Additional Director General of Police K.C.Sadyal said,Indoria has gone underground after his pre-arrest bail was rejected by the high court and all efforts of the vigilance team to trace him have failed thus compelling the agency to seek shelter of the court.
The State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau had registered a case against Indoria, who incidently also served as SP at Kullu and charges against him relate money transactions as bribe from a hydro-power company during his posting in the district as police chief.
Sadyal said the vigilance teams will intensify its action to conduct raids at possible places where Indoria has been moving and if he doesnt surrender or get arrested,he will be known as proclaimed offender that would mean a more stringent action.
Earlier, the vigilance had arrested a Kullu businessman, who allegedly used to collect it on his behalf, and then transfer the money to to his bank accounts. These transactions are of about Rs 25 lakh.
