Hosts NPS-18 advance into final

Buoyed by a fine performance by their cagers,hosts New Public School,Sector 18 scored a 48-36 win over Sacred Heart School.

Buoyed by a fine performance by their cagers,hosts New Public School,Sector 18 scored a 48-36 win over Sacred Heart School,Sector 26 to storm into the final of the Shanta H Singh Memorial Basketball Tournament being played at New Public School on Sunday.

The team was supported by a superb performance by their players,who dominated the proceedings right from the start of the match.

Preeti Malhotra was in fine form as she made constant attacks into the opposition half. She scored 12 points and was ably asssited by Neha Sangwan,who scored ten points in the match.

Both the cagers displayed fine coordination and made some fine moves together to put New Public School team into an early lead into the match.

In the other semi-final encounter,Yadavindra Public School,Mohali scored a 47-18 win over Guru Nanak Public School,Sector 36.

In the Rao Jai Singh Basketball Tournament for boys,BKSP,Bangladesh rallied into the final with a comprehensive 74-45 win over Yadavindra Public School,Mohali. In the other semi-final encounter,hosts New Public School ended the challenge of Police DAV Public School,Amritsar.

GN Girls College,Ludhiana claim title

Guru Nanak Girls College,Ludhiana claimed the overall title with 18 points in the in the Panjab University Judo (Women) Tournament held at Panjab University on Sunday. GGS College for Women,Chandigarh claimed the second spot while the third spot was claimed by PG GCG,Sector 11 ,Chandigarh.

Priya of GGS College for Women,Chandigarh claimed the top spot in the 44 Kg category. Monika of GN Khalsa College for Women,Ludhiana claimed the second spot .
