Bharatiya Janata Party MLAs led by Leader of Opposition (LOP) Jairam Thakur walked out of the House on Tuesday — on the first day of the Monsoon Session of the Haryana Assembly — criticising Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s Government over what they said was the deteriorating law and order situation in the state. Demanding a debate on the law and order situation, the BJP MLAs walked out of the House shouting slogans against the Sukhu government as they pointed to the murder of a man in the industrial town of Baddi over a drug trade dispute on Monday. The BJP MLAs also highlighted a shootout near the entry gate of Bilaspur District Court, in which the son of a former Congress MLA was arrested. "On Monday, two groups of truck drivers clashed over drug money. A member of one group was brutally lynched with iron rods, sticks, and swords, and was murdered on the spot. Two others were admitted to hospitals. A few months ago, a woman was attacked near the bus stand in Hamirpur with a giant sickle. Moreover, at least 11 girl students have been molested during the Congress regime this year,” he added. Thakur also criticised the Himachal Pradesh Government for placing more than two dozen police officers on reserved leave at the Police Headquarters in Shimla. Responding to Thakur, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu retorted, "The two groups fought over drug money, a menace that grew in the state during Jairam Thakur's BJP regime." Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri also hit at the BJP leaders, saying they are scared that now the Congress party is in full majority in the House. Kangana Ranaut's statement rocks Himachal Assembly Meanwhile, Congress leaders, including Industry Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan, Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi and others, hit out at Kangana Ranaut, the BJP Member of Parliament from Mandi, over her comments during last year's farmers’ agitation. Chauhan said, "There should be debate on the irresponsible statement of Kangana Ranaut over the farmer agitation,” said Chauhan as he brought a resolution to condemn her remarks in the House. Negi demanded the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) against Kangana Ranaut. "I urged CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu to order the registration of an FIR against Kangana Ranaut. The statement was so irresponsible that the BJP central leadership distanced itself from it and condemned it,” he said. As Congress leaders were criticising the statement of Kangana Ranaut, BJP MLAs came back to the House.
