It has been a good start to the new year for a city-based animator team. DC Animations’ game Rikshaw Brawl has bagged an award for the best graphics performance in the international series of Intel level up 2010. Previously, they had won the “best game art and design award” at the national level. The prize had included a chance to be showcased at Nasscom Animation and Gaming Summit 2010 in Hyderabad, one of the biggest events for game developers and animators in India. “We’ve only just found out about the international award. It’s a judges’ choice award. This contest had around 850 games from 32 countries,” says Ravi Yadav of DC Animations,“Our prize is a Boxed Intel Core i7-940 Processor.”

The team is all set to evolve Rikshaw Brawl into a full version game. The demo version is available for free download on http://dc-animations.blogspot.com/search/label/downloads. “We also provide tips on aspects of animation through video and text tutorials. Animation Guru magazine publishes our text tutorials every month, and the video tutorials can be found on our blog in ‘tutorials’ section,” adds Yadav.
