From an all-new restaurant at Panchkula to spreading wings in Mumbai, projects with Haryana Tourism to special anniversary celebrations,Hotel Pallavi is on a roll
An anniversary is a good time to get reminiscent about the past, but also plan the innings ahead. On both counts Panchkula-based Hotel Pallavi gets a full score. After more than two decades of successful hospitality, the hotel group is rolling ahead with new plans and projects that are set to put their brand in the spotlight once again. “Starting now, you’ll not just hear from us more but see us in action too,” the hotel’s young and ambitious director Himanshu Aggarwal mentions upfront. This Sunday was special, with the hotel celebrating not just its 12th anniversary but the re-launch of its all-new restaurant ‘Lamhe’ and ‘RLX Lounge Bar’ along with a bevvy of discounts. “Since we were in a celebratory frame of mind,we decided to open doors to the new Lamhe and the bar on the same day,” mentions Aggarwal who is all buckled up in the driver’s seat, steering the hotel to new destinations and goals. Let’s start with Lamhe first.
The restaurant tucked away in the hotel’s basement now boasts of contemporary interiors, plush overtones and 140 covers. “Earlier there was a more traditional ambience. We decided to move with the times,” we hear Aggarwal explain. Apart from the natty look complete with smartly turned out stewards and hostesses, the menu brings in popular Indian,Chinese as well Continental best-sellers. “Also we have a section offering Indian dishes prepared without onion and garlic. It’s been one of our USPs for long,” informs the hotel’s director as we move on to the bar. Styled as a sports bar,’RLX’ now also boasts of a strong wine list as well. “The last couple of years have seen the Indian palate mature tremendously,” adds Aggarwal who joined the family business as director last year. The contemporary make-over has much to do with his stint in Chicago. “We are even planning on setting up a motel there,” he smiles to share.
Speaking of spreading wings, while this January saw the hotel’s new corporate inn ‘Pallavi West’ open doors, the coming months shall see Pallavi Residency take off in Mumbai. “It’s a 88-room property with a roof-top restaurant, banquets, and more,” informs Aggarwal as he further adds,”We are also negotiating sites in the Chandigarh-Amritsar and Chandigarh-Delhi belt.” All that will see the group invest as much as Rs 100 crores over the next two to three years. Back home in Haryana,Aggarwal is working on an interesting project joining hands with the state’s tourism department. “Haryana hasn’t been a strong tourist destination so far. To attract people,we are making efforts to introduce houseboats in the region and make full use of the state’s many lakes,” explains Aggarwal who is finalizing the feasibility of Karna Lake,Karnal for starters. But more on that later!
