Flights cancelled for second day

The cold wave continued in the city with the maximum day temperature being recorded at 9 degrees,11 degrees below normal.

The cold wave continued in the city on Thursday with the maximum day temperature being recorded at 9 degrees,11 degrees below normal. The day temperature continued to be lower than that of the hilly regions including Shimla,Dharamsala and Mandi. The maximum day temperature recorded on Wednesday was 7.4 degrees,the city’s all time-low. The minimum temperature today was 5.7 degrees,1 degree above normal. Met department officials said that there may be a slight rise in the temperature but not enough to give residents a respite. For the second consecutive day,all flights to and from the city were cancelled due to fog and mist. Cold winds continued to blow,making the residents shiver.
