“A short film with a a cuppa tea/coffee and ideas on Sunday at the Cafe Kafee Kuchh in Sector 15,” says the doc. “As the name suggests,it’s a no frill,informal film festival. It will be a screening of short films by the locals. It is a kind of ‘bring your own film’ festival,” he says,quickly listing and clearing the FAQs. “For starters,I am a bankrupt filmmaker,so there is no entry fees,” says Gaurav. Obviously,there are no passes,no printed invites,no inauguration ceremony. It’s a come one,come all fare.

As for the kind of films: “This is an open platform for video artists. Your film can be about any thing under sun (and beyond). However,it should be a film and not a picnic/travel/birthday party fun video etc,and we are not looking at powerpoint presentations. The film may have been shot on any format Mini Dv,HD,mobile phone format. The duration of the film should be ideally under 10 minutes,and one can bring in three films per person.”

While there is no grand prize as such,Gaurav insists that the film be suitable for all ages and filmmakers must be present for a ‘meet the talent’ session at the festival. The number of film entries are limited,so hurry and sign up! “It’s a garage film festival and it’s going to be grungy. We will be screening our films in the open,and you can submit between December 16 and 19,at H no. 32,Sector 11-A,Chandigarh,” signs off the doc.
