The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE),on Monday, assured that the fields which have not been included in the correction option for All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) form will have no effect on the candidates qualification for the examination.
With the online application for AIEEE becoming mandatory from this year,a number of students had been raising concerns over their inability to make corrections in fields like Mothers income and qualifying examination. The last date for the submission is December 31.
Simran,an applicant for the examination said,I had submitted my form about a week ago. However,I later realised that I had incorrectly entered the amount of my Mothers income. I tried making corrections but the field could not be found. I tried speaking to the CBSE officials and also posted my query on website but it did not help.
In addition, the section for Frequently Asked Questions in the AIEEE portal on CBSEs website has been flooded with similar questions.
Asked about the procedure for making the corrections,CBSE Chairman Vineet Joshi explained,Even if a candidate has provided incorrect information in any of the fields which have not been kept open for correction,he or she will be considered eligible. The corrections can be made by simply sending an application to the regional office a month prior to the examination.
The examination will be conducted from May 7 to 25. Chandigarh will be one of the 22 centres that will be conducting online examinations.
The other cities include Hyderabad,Trivandrum,Noida,Vijaywada,Bhopal,Kolkata,Vishakhapatnam,Mumbai,Allahabad,Jalandhar,Bhubaneshwar,Delhi/NCR,Jaipur,Kota,Ahemdabad,Chennai,Nagpur,Bangaluru,Dehradun,Eranakulam and Lucknow.
