Thanks to the negligence of the Panchkula Police,Amit Kaushal,mastermind of the fake licence racket fled from police custody.
Kaushal was brought on production of warrants from Chandigarh police.
He escaped when a team of Panchkula police officers took him to Manimajra to identify a vehicle on Friday night. The Chandigarh Police had recently arrested Amit on charges of vehicle lifting.
On charges of negligence,the Chandigarh Police today registered an FIR against Panchkula police Sub-Inspector Sushil Kumar under Section 223 (Escape from confinement or custody negligently suffered by public servant) and 224 (Resistance or obstruction by a person to his lawful apprehension) of IPC in Manimajra police station. The complainant in the case is Dharambir Singh,Station House Officer (SHO),Sector 20 Police Station,Panchkula.
Also,the Panchkula Police suspended Sub Inspector Sushil Kumar today. As per available information,Sushil Kumar was responsible for the act.
Hence,he was suspended. Amit was running a fake driving licence and RCs racket from the servant quarters of western command area. Kaushal,according to the police,used to project himself as an an employee of the licencing authority. He mainly targeted people from other states who required licences to run vehicles in the tri-city.
