The thrashing of a SPO of Panchkula police came to light a day after the incident of misbehaviour with a sub-inspector of Chandigarh traffic police, who was also shown at fault in a video clip while kicking and punching a civilian in Sector 34 on Friday.
As the video clip went viral, ACP Noopur Bishnoi was ordered to probe the incident. He along with Mansa Devi SHO, Inspector Rajeev Kumar, visited the shrine and recorded the statements of around a dozen people.
Panchkula Police Commissioner Saurabh Singh said the old National Highway between Kalka and Pinjore and the stretch between Pinjore and Nalagarh was in need of special attention in view of traffic arrangements.
Three victims, including one, who was a minor when he came to the cow shelter and had bee staying there now for last nine years, recorded their statements under Section 164 of the CrPC before a local magistrate in district courts, Panchkula, on Thursday.
Finding that several outsiders were frequenting the school after classes got over, two written requests were sent to Panchkula police, one even to the Director General of Police, seeking deployment of a PCR van from 7.30 am to 8.30 am and 2 pm to 3 pm outside the building.
Complainant in the case is Director, Higher Education, Haryana, who forwarded a complaint to the Panchkula police seeking registration of a criminal case against the institute’s management and a probe to find out whether students were also involved in the alleged scam.
