Dr Parmar remembered

Floral tributes were paid to state’s first Chief Minister Dr Yashwant Singh Parmar,a Congress leader instrumental in the formation of the state,on his 105th birth anniversary.

Floral tributes were paid to state’s first Chief Minister Dr Yashwant Singh Parmar,a Congress leader instrumental in the formation of the state,on his 105th birth anniversary .

Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal led the state in paying tributes to Parmar at the Ridge,where he was joined by senior Congress leaders including Vidya Stokes,leader of Opposition in the Assembly,and family members of Parmar,including his son Kush Parmar,a sitting Congress MLA.

Later,Dhumal,presiding over a function at the state assembly,said,the state would forever remain indebted to Parmar as it was under his leadership that Himachal Pradesh got a separate identity.

“Parmar provided a visionary leadership. He was a multifaceted personality,who had deep understanding of social system,politics and literature,” Dhumal added.
