Stating that there is no threat from Naxals or terrorists in Punjab,Director General of Police P S Gill said the police were keeping a strict vigil across the state.

Gill was in Bathinda on Sunday in connection with an awards distribution function of Police Public School. Responding to media queries on an array of issues,Gill said the Punjab Police were trying to devise a mechanism to destroy the RDX seized over the years, adding that the Army did not respond to successive communiqués on the issue.

Gill also spoke about the special teams at police station levels to arrest proclaimed offenders. On a query related to giving posting to tainted police officers, the DGP said no officer could be considered guilty till the court gave its verdict.

Reacting to the allegations levelled by certain Congress leaders about his political ambitions behind frequent visits to Moga,Gill termed them baseless.

The DGP also inaugurated a Suwidha Centre at the Kotwali police station.
