Despite its drug references, cuss words and a good amount of gore,Go Goa Gone released without any controversies. But three weeks after its release, the makers may have to do away with the song Slowly Slowly.
The National Commission for Women (NCW) has sent a notice to the films producers Kishore Lulla,CEO,Eros International,Dinesh Vijan of Illuminati Films Pvt Limited and Saif Ali Khan over obscene lyrics of Slowly Slowly that encourage violence against women and drug usage. The producers have been asked to take a decision by May 30. Pointing out the use of the word whore in the song being derogatory to women and references to drug use,the notice has asked for the song to be deleted from the film and banned from public telecast.
Director Raj Nidimoru states that the song has been read out of context. As directors,we are responsible people too,and wont put anything like that out in our film. It has to be seen in context of the film and not in isolation. People who have seen the film have called it one of the best anti-drug messages, he says. The word in question, says Nidimoru,is a play on the Punjabi word, which in this case means one more.
