Cong,Manpreet indulging in double-speak: Majithia

Revenue and Public Relations Minister Punjab Bikram Singh Majithia on Friday accused state Congress chief Captain Amarinder Singh and PPP president Manpreet Singh Badal of double speak and hypocrisy.

Revenue and Public Relations Minister Punjab Bikram Singh Majithia on Friday accused state Congress chief Captain Amarinder Singh and PPP president Manpreet Singh Badal of double speak and hypocrisy.

In a statement,Majithia said: “They had often changed their stands and their so-called principles for their political survival. Manpreet and Amarinder have realised that to ensure their respective political survival, they had to act like crutches for each other. They were both willing to do anything and embrace anyone to ensure their political survival.”

He added: “The eagerness for an alliance shown by both Amarinder and Manpreet clearly shows that both of them were not getting any support from the people, which has made them jittery. It is ironical that just before the elections, both these leaders were spitting venom and even refused to acknowledge each other.”

Meanwhile,Majithia, who is also the NRI Affairs Minister, stressed on the need to educate Americans about Sikhs to avoid any untoward incident in future besides seeking cooperation of the US for more investments in Punjab. This was discussed in a meeting with American Republican and former Congressman from Pennsylvania,Curt Weldon, who called on Majithia here on Friday.
