Cement pilferage: MC Commissioner orders probe against engineer

Municipal Commissioner Dr Roshan Sunkaria today ordered to chargesheet Gurshan Dass,Sub Divisional Engineer (civil) for supervisory lapse in the alleged cement pilferage. It was also revealed that Dass had allowed indent of 2,000 bags of cement to be used for ‘Improvement and development of existing infrastructure of Sector 17’. The commissioner further placed R K Dhiman,Assistant Engineer under suspension with immediate effect. He was working in the Municipal Corporation at Chandigarh on deputation from PWD (B&R) in HP. The Commissioner has also ordered to terminate the services of daily wage chowkidar Chhedi Lal and daily wage mason Thakur Singh and contractor of the project A K Sood,Panchkula and Sarvpriya Building Products.
