Pooja Tandon,of Perfect Bride fame,on her brush with reality shows and Bollywood

You watched her and loved her,sometimes even praying for her. We are talking about Pooja Tandon,who won fame and appreciation after appearing in Perfect Bride,a reality show on Star Plus. In town for the shooting of her Punjabi movie The Lion of Punjab,she spoke about her experience in the reality show and her future in Bollywood.

They are two different experiences. In reality TV,one is constantly being recorded,every move,every action going on air while in films you are just acting for the camera, she says. She believes that reality shows are based on impulse and reflex,unlike films where actions are scripted. But she is thankful to the small screen that gave her an identity. Today,wherever I go,people ask for autographs.

Tandon has taken acting lessons in Mumbai from Kishore Namit Kapoor Acting Lab. She has also trained in classical dance. I am playing the role of an educated girl who is strongly committed to a sense of justice, she says of the movie she is working on currently.

She is already looking forward to diverse roles to better exploit her talent. I am open to both comic and serious roles, she says.
