British School opens golf academy

The British School has come up with a junior golf academy at its premises for the young golfers of the tricity. The academy was inaugurated by Birender Singh Gill,president of Chandigarh Golf Club and he was accompanied by IPS Mann,captain of Chandigarh Golf Club and SPS Ghai,secretary of Chandigarh Golf Club. Two greens and a bunker have been laid already in the school under the guidance of Manjit Kochar,director (Overseas),Junior Golf Development Programme,ICGA,Canada and golf teaching professional at Chandigarh Golf Club. “The aim of the academy is to nurture talent at the basic level and the academy will provide all the necessary equipment like golf sets,golf balls and other equipment,” said Kochar. The academy started functioning from February 7.
