Barun rallies into third round qualifiers

Barun Gill of Chandigarh rallied his way to an easy 7-1 win over Sahej Chopra of Delhi in the boys’ U-14 category to move into the third qualifying round in the AITA Talent Series Tennis Tournament being held at Chandigarh Club Tennis Club Courts on Saturday.

In another second round match in the same category,Anupam Lambha of Punjab ended the challenge of Tegveer Singh Hara of Punjab with a 7-4 win to move into the third round while Himmat Khullar of Delhi scored a narrow 7-5 win over Pranav Ahuja of Rajasthan. Dalwinder Singh of Punjab ended the challenge of Vishwender Sarout of Haryana with a 7-4 win while Robin Kakkar of Punjab got a walkover. In another match in the same round,Diviansh Pandey of Chandigarh ended the challenge of Yogesh Dahiya of Chandigarh with a 7-2 win while Rahul Seth of Chandigarh got a walkover from Rohtas Solanki. In another match of the day,Vikas Berwal of Haryana defeated Pranay Jaipuria of Rajasthan with a 7-0 margin while Aditya Malik of Haryana scored a 7-2 win over Jaskaran Nagpal of Himachal Pradesh.

In the boys’ Under-16 second round,Deepak Thakur of Punjab ended the challenge of Uday Mann Singh of Chandigarh with a 7-5 win while Yatin Kumar of Haryana ended the challenge of Jaskaran grewal of Punjab with a 7-2 win.
