The Punjab government on Saturday assured full support to yoga master Ramdev’s mass stir beginning August 9.

The Punjab government on Saturday assured full support to yoga master Ramdev’s mass stir beginning August 9. Ramdev has threatened to launch the stir if the UPA government did not take effective steps for establishment of a strong Lokpal and in bringing back black money stashed abroad.

“SAD fully supports Ramdev in his crusade against corruption,” Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal told the media after a brief meeting with the yoga master who was in Chandigarh on Saturday.

Sating that the Centre has hardly taken any step to bring the black money which could be utilised for funding welfare schemes for the poor,Badal said UPA’s faulty policies have led to manifold increase in corruption.

The SAD patriarch told Ramdev that his party MPs would take up the issue in the upcoming session of Parliament.

Meanwhile,Ramdev said the August 9 stir will be “a fight to the finish,a decisive battle. I can only say we will fight even if we have to give up our life for the nation and its people.”

Queried about the Congress leader Digvijay Singh asking him to declare the black money he possesses before launching an anti-graft campaign,Ramdev said he will not answer any questions on his morality or honesty until asked by “UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, the Prime Minister or Rahul Gandhi. But,I have nothing to say to him (Digvijay).”

Lashing out at the UPA government,Ramdev said the treaties which India had with other nations would not help in bringing back black money. “Not a single rupee will come back.”
