Canadian team meets Mayor,extends invite

Chandigarh:A four-member team from Brampton,Canada,visited the Municipal Corporation office on Monday to invite Mayor Raj Bala Malik to Brampton for a cultural exchange programme. Municipal Commissioner V P Singh briefed the visitors about the ongoing projects of the Municipal Corporation. Explaining the main features of Brampton,the city of flowers,councillor Vicky Dhillon said the city had more than 850 parks,217 kms of trails,and over 3,600 hectares of parkland and open spaces.

Two PGI doctors win international awards

Chandigarh:Renowned ophthalmologist of PGIMER Dr Jagat Ram of Advanced Eye Centre has added another feather to his cap by getting a prestigious international award at a recently concluded conference of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ESCRS) held at Milan,Italy from September 6-12. Dr Jaspreet Sukhija from Advanced Eye Centre,PGIMER,also won the prestigious international award in the conference.

Award for GMCH doctor as well

Chandigarh:Dr Ravneet Kaur,Associate Professor,Department of Transfusion Medicine,Government Medical College and Hospital,Sector 32,was awarded J R Jolly Award at 37th National Conference of Indian Society of Blood Transfusion and Immunhematology held at Mamallapuram,Tamil Nadu on Sunday. Dr Kaur is currently also the Editor of Asian Journal of Transfusion Science.
