A Mixed Bag

It was a hot,muggy evening but lifting it up with a heady mix of colour and creativity was the INIFD Designer Medley’13. The annual passing out fashion show of the Inter National Institute of Fashion Design (INIFD) Chandigarh rolled out on Sunday evening at Chandigarh Club. A total of 22 collections by the students of fashion design were showcased by a bevy of models and familiar faces that included Miss India Earth Prachi Mishra who is set to debut in the film Zaalim Dilli,actor Jaswir Kaur, winner of Miss Teen New Zealand,Radhika Bangia,as well as actor Anamika Benn,seen in Bollywood films such as Once Upon a time in Mumbaai and All the Best. Adding to the colourful potpourri was a performance by Punjabi singer Akhil of Angrezi Desi fame and his band. The collections presented were put together by students who chose a variety of themes. Collections such as “Cabbage Curls”,“Royalty Under Construction”,“Fold Unfold” ,“The Secret Garden” and “Jugni Mast Kalandar” were well-received by the audience.
