The commencement of international operations in T2 was initially scheduled from the midnight of August 31. Singapore Airlines SQ508 between Singapore and Bengaluru was the first international airline scheduled to land at KIA’s T2 on Thursday at 10:55 am.
However, according to airport authorities due to lack of operational preparedness and with pending civil infrastructure work in T2, BIAL did not get the clearance from the regulatory authorities to go ahead with the launch of international operations in T2. BIAL in a statement on Wednesday said that, “The last-minute decision ( to postpone the international operations in T2) was taken during the final preparedness review in order to provide an optimal and seamless transition for our passengers. International operations will continue to remain in Terminal 1 until further notice.”
