MSU hostel turns venue for marriage dinner; students’ union demands action

The M S University Students’ Union (MSUSU) has demanded strict action against the Chief Warden and cook of MSU Vikram Sarabai Boys hostel after they spotted a marriage procession dining in the hostel premises on Thursday night. MSU halls of residence Chief Warden D P Bharambe is in-charge of this hostel.

The authorities have now decided to take strict action against the cook of the hostel,who had allegedly arranged the dinner for the marriage procession,and also inquire Bharambe’s role in the matter.MSUSU General Secretary Hari Kiran Rao submitted a memorandum to MSU authorities over the issue,on Friday.

He said: “We witnessed this incident at 9:00 pm. Everybody from Bharambe to the cook is hand in gloves in this. Strict action should be taken against them.”

On his part,Bharambe denied the allegations. He said: “I returned home at 7.30 pm. I was not aware of this incident.”

Vice-Chancellor Prof Ramesh Goyal said: “I have called for a further investigation into the matter about the involvement of the chief warden. We will terminate the cook.”
