The Ahmedabad police during vehicle checking drive in early hours of Sunday arrested a man who posed as a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officer and tried to escape checking.
The person has been identified as Hari Prakash Sriram Mishra (29),a resident of Jai But Bhavani Society in Vejalpur. He was reportedly on a motorcycle with his friend.
The police said, when stopped him for checking at Nehru Bridge,Hari objected to it. He reportedly told the policeman that he should be left without checking because he is a CBI officer.
The police later arrested him when they found that he had no identity card and no information about any CBI officer.
The police have booked a case of fraud against him and begun further probe.
