All-India police meet at Karai

The state police brass is preparing to hold the All India Police Duty Meet with special teams at the Police Training Academy at Karai in Gandhinagar.

The state police brass is preparing to hold the All India Police Duty Meet with special teams at the Police Training Academy at Karai in Gandhinagar.

Twenty seven state and five Central police units will participate in the event.

Nine hundred policemen will take part in various competitions at the duty meet,like anti-sabotage checking,police photography and videography,life saving techniques,computer skills,among others.

Director General of Police S S Khandwawala said Chief Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the meet while the Governor will preside over the valedictory session.

He added: “In order to make the enrolment and procedures faster,we initiated a website completely dedicated to the Police Duty Meet.

The website has comprehensive information on the competition,rules and regulations,other teams,enrolment forms and procedures,hotel and rest room facilities,tourism and travel options in Gujarat and the like. For the first time,everything was done through the Internet.”

The Meet will be held between February 2 and 9.
