Chilli,jeera remain weak on subdued demand

Red chilli and jeera prices fell further by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital.

Red chilli and jeera prices fell further by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today on subdued demand from retailers and stockists amid adequate stocks.

Red chilli prices declined by Rs 100 to Rs 5,800-11,000 per quintal.

Jeera common and best quality also fell by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 14,400- 4,600 and Rs 17,200-17,700 per quintal.

Marketmen said subdued demand from retailers and stockists amid adequate stocks,mainly pulled down chilli and jeera prices in the wholesale kirana market here.

Ajwain 10,000-15,000,black pepper (per kg) 410-530,betelnut (kg) 160-195,cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 850-980,and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 900-1,000.

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 750-850,cardamom (colour robin) 800-950,cardamom bold 900-980,cardamom extra (bold) 900-1,000 and cloves (kg) 600-700.
