The court took note of the fact that Oza chose to go to press with the allegations instead of the chief justice and that his tendering an apology to the court showed he did not stand by the utterances.

A veteran Senior Advocate, Oza has dabbled in politics, and has been president of the High Court’s Bar association for over two decades. The High Court has noted his ‘repeated acts and conduct of contempt’, and concluded that his apology is ‘not bona fide and lacks sincerity’.
