Tripura, Jan 15 (ANI): Preparations for Poush Sankranti were in full swing in Lankamura district of Tripura on Friday. Women were seen making beautiful patterns of rangoli with powdered rice. These decorative patterns and symbol of religious belief are created to welcome goddess Lakshmi with good fortune, health and wealth. According to the Hindu religion, the last day of Poush month is celebrated as Makar Sankranti and people in rural Tripura celebrate it as Poush Sankranti.
