Shatrughan Sinha, the veteran Bollywood actor turned politician, has emerged as a prominent figure in Indian politics, particularly within the Trinamool Congress (TMC). Born on December 9, 1945, in Bihar, Sinha's journey from the silver screen to the political arena has been marked by charisma and controversy alike.
Sinha's foray into politics began in the 1990s when he joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He served as a Member of Parliament (MP) for multiple terms, representing the Patna Sahib constituency in Bihar. However, his relationship with the BJP soured over time, particularly due to ideological differences and criticisms of the party's leadership.
In 2019, Sinha joined the Trinamool Congress, a regional party based in West Bengal, led by Mamata Banerjee. His decision to switch parties was seen as a significant development, signaling both his disillusionment with the BJP and his alignment with TMC's ethos. He subsequently contested the 2024 Lok Sabha election on TMC's ticket and successfully earned his place back in the lower house of the Indian Parliament.

After opting for a civil marriage, on Sunday Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal, hosted a party at the celeb-favourite restaurant Bastian in Mumbai later in the evening with Bollywood’s who’s who in attendance. While the couple opted for matching ivory outfits for their wedding, Sonakshi was later seen dressed in a red saree and sported sindoor as she walked in with husband Zaheer for their wedding reception. Zaheer wore an off-white bandhgala. The wedding reception was attended by celebs like Salman Khan, Rekha, Tabu, Aditi Rao Hydari, Saira Bano, Sharmin Segal, Kajol, Raveen Tandon, Vidya Balan, Arbaaz Khan, and Anil Kapoor, among others. Ahead of their wedding, the couple also hosted an indoor party for friends and family on June 20 and a mehendi ceremony on June 21.
