Shatrughan Sinha says ‘heartbreaking’ to meet Hema Malini in ‘traumatic times’ after Dharmendra’s death

He also shared throwback pictures of him and wife Poonam Sinha with Hema, Dharmendra, and late actor-politician Sunil Dutt. It’s an interesting political mix since while Dharmendra and Hema belong to Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP), Sinha is a member of Trinamool Congress (TMC). Interestingly, Sunil Dutt was a member of the Congress party. “Dharamji was a kind & gentle soul. He isn’t with us today but his memories will live with us forever. Prayers & condolences for their peace in these difficult times. God bless them all. Shanti (peace),” added Sinha in his X caption.

On Friday, Sinha met the Deol family and shared throwback pictures with Dharmendra, Sunny, and Bobby. “On my return from Delhi, went with a very heavy sorrowful heart to our dearest family friend our elder brother’s @aapkadharam home. It was a heart touching meeting his wonderful sons @iamsunnydeol Bobby Deol @thedeol, his attractive, charming wife Tanya their handsome sons Dharam & especially Aryaman. It was great meeting them all & remembered Dharmji for the remarkable person he was & will live forever for the many lives he touched. Prayed for their peace & strength in these sorrowful times,” wrote Sinha on X.

Meanwhile, UAE-based filmmaker Hamad Al Reymani also recalled on Instagram his conversation with Hema from the third day of morning. “She added, with deep sadness, that she regretted his fans hadn’t had the chance to see him one last time. And she said to me in a motherly tone: ‘Dharmendra, throughout his life, never wanted anyone to see him weak or ill. He hid his pain even from his closest relatives. And after a person passes away, the decision rests with the family.'”

“Then she paused for a moment… wiped away a tear… and said to me clearly: ‘But what happened was a mercy… because, Hamad, you couldn’t have borne to see him in that state. His condition in his final days was cruel… painful… and even we could hardly bear to see him like that. Her words were like arrows… painful and true,” added Reymani.
