He said the issue is not about Dalits but ‘injustice’. He strongly condemned the ‘caste angle’ given to Rohith Vemula's death by Smriti Irani. New Delhi, Jan 21 (ANI): Congress leader Randeep Surjewala on Thursday attacked Human Resource Development (HRD) minister Smriti Irani for “lying” and giving “false” information to the nation about the Dalit scholar suicide case. Randeep said both Irani and her Cabinet colleague Bandaru Dattatreya should be sacked immediately for allegedly putting pressure on the university to suspend five Dalit students, including Rohith Vemula who committed suicide.He added that this shows that BJP and its government can go to any extent to support their people.
