BJP MLA thrashes man, says has taken onus of patriotism

New Delhi, Feb 15 (ANI): There was vandalism outside the Patiala House Court in New Delhi on Monday, where Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA O.P. Sharma had beaten up an unidentified man. The incident took place when Jawaharlal Nehru University Students' Union president Kanhaiya Kumar was produced in the court. Talking to the media, the BJP legislator said that those raising anti-India slogans would not be spared. When asked if they had taken the onus of patriotism, he replied in affirmation. Even though he was seen beating an unidentified man, he said that we were trying to catch hold of the one who was raising pro-Pakistan slogans.

Press Club distances itself from Afzal Guru event

New Delhi, Feb 12 (ANI): The Press Club of India on Friday distanced itself from an event in their premises in which anti-India slogans were raised during a commemorative meeting held to mourn the hanging of 2001 Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru. Press Club Chairman Rahul Jalali said the club had nothing to do with the organisers. He added that the booking was done by a senior member for a conference. He further said that as soon as they got information about the incident they asked the people to get out of the club. They lodged police complaint against the one who booked it.
