Ajay Nishad biography

Ajay Nishad is a political leader from Bihar and a member of the Bhartiya Janata Party. He is the incumbent Member of Parliament from Bihar’s Muzaffarpur Lok Sabha constituency. He was born on October 2, 1966, in Hajipur, Bihar, and is the son of former minister late Captain Jai Narin Prasad Nishad. He was initially a member of the RJD before joining the BJP.

His first attempt at entering politics as an RJD member wasn't as successful, as he ran in two assembly elections from the Kurhani and Sahebganj constituencies and ended up on the losing side both times. Nishad changed sides and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2014.

His choice was successful, as he won the Muzaffarpur Lok Sabha seat in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections by riding the BJP's surge of popularity. In the 2019 elections, he successfully defended his seat, establishing himself as a well-known BJP politician in Bihar.
