The 2023 ODI World Cup is the 13th edition of the cricket’s showpiece tournament. While the 2023 World Cup will be the fourth instance of India hosting the event, the Men in Blue have clinched the title two times so far. The first time India won the World Cup was in 1983, thanks to the heroics of unheralded Kapil Dev and Co. Then in 2011, Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s men ensured that cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar was able to lift the trophy he was most keen to clinch.
The 2023 edition of the Cricket World Cup will start from October 5 at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium with a clash between England and New Zealand. The final will be held at the same venue on November 19.
India, led by Rohit Sharma, will be one of the favourites for the title this year. The other teams who will throw their hats in the ring are Australia, England and Pakistan. Only six nations have ever won the Cricket World Cup, with Australia claiming the title five times.
