There was a lot of disappointment among Indians when ace wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt came back after losing in the opening round in the Rio Olympics. But that does not mean he should be subjected to harassment and mockery just because he failed to perform well in a single multi-sport event. One must not forget that Dutt bagged a bronze medal for India in London Olympics in 2012, he won a gold medal in 2014 Commonwealth Games at Glasgow. Also, he is a Khel Ratna and Padma Shri awardee as well.

When the wrestler did not fare well at the Olympics, fans of Salman Khan saw it as an opportunity to mock him and ridicule him because Dutt had opined on Salman becoming the brand ambassador of the Indian Olympic team back in April, which didn’t go down well with the actor’s fans. They were also extremely rude when some of them made really nasty comments.

Back in April, Dutt, who was not pleased with the decision of Khan being named the ambassador for Olympics, had tweeted, “What is the purpose of an ambassador? Stop fooling the people of this country.” He also asked what the actor has done to deserve this when the country has athletes like PT Usha and Milkha Singh.
