MWC 2016: Obi Worldphone MV1 launched with 5-inch display at $139

Obi Worldphone MV1 is a $139 smartphone that will come with optional Android 5.1 Lollipop and Cyanogen OS platform

Obi, the company founded by former Apple CEO John Sculley has announced its third smartphone at MWC 2016. The company is aiming to reach even more audience with its $139 MV1 budget smartphone.

Obi Worldphone MV1 retains the design elements of SF1 but the display doesn’t protrude here. Like previous two Obi smartphones, it looks small and circumvent in terms of design.

    The Obi Worldphone MV1 features 5-inch 720p HD display and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 processor. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 with oleophobic coating.

    The smartphone comes with 1GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. Obi also has a 2GB RAM variant of the same phone. Obi Worldphone MV1 will come with 8MP f/2.2 primary camera with autofocus and LED flash and a 2MP front camera for selfies.

    The dual-SIM Obi MV1 comes with decent 2500mAh battery and uses microUSB for charging. Interestingly, Obi plans to offer this phone with Android 5.1 Lollipop as well as Cyanogen OS 12.1 operating systems. Obi could bring this phone to India very soon.
